August 8th
The 15th Annual Jazz Dance World Festival, an international celebration of dance-Each performance includes six or more professional dance companies from around the globe and features a different program each night. Companies scheduled to perform include host Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago (GJDC); Canada’s Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal, Mexico’s Cuerpo Etereo Danza Contemporanea, Italy’s Danza Prospettiva Vittorio Biagi, Japan’s Masashi Action Machine, LA’s Instincts Live Media, Philadelphia’s Koresh Dance Co. and Salt Lake City’s Odyssey Dance Theatre; plus Chicago’s own Chicago Tap Theatre, Joel Hall Dancers, Jump Rhythm Jazz Project, Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago, River North Chicago Dance Company and Thodos Dance Chicago. There will also an appearance by guest artist Christopher Huggins, former Alvin Ailey dancer and choreographer of the critically acclaimed Pyrokinesis, premiered by GJDC this past March at the Harris. August 1st - 4th
